CIPD accredited university programmes

A CIPD accredited university programme is aligned to the CIPD Profession Map and maps to the core knowledge and core behaviour standards for a level of CIPD membership. That means, when you choose to study a CIPD accredited university programme as part of your degree, you’re choosing to align yourself to the international standard for the people profession.

As a CIPD approved programme provider you can be sure that an institution has successfully completed a rigorous approval process and continues to meet the CIPD’s standards.

Upon successfully completing your programme, you’ll achieve a CIPD membership outcome, a visible demonstration of your experience and expertise in the people profession.

If you study an undergraduate level degree, you’ll become an Associate Member, and if you study a postgraduate level degree you’ll initially become an Associate Member with the option to upgrade to Chartered depending on your experience.

CIPD membership showcases your level of knowledge and impact within the people profession and demonstrates your commitment to the highest professional standards; it enables you to keep up-to-date with research and practical content and opens the door to an established network in the profession.

Step 2 Once you've decided what to study, decide where to study. Consider whether you want to study online, in a classroom, or maybe a mix of both. Find a study centre using our Centre Finder. 

Step 3 Contact your chosen study centre for details on the cost of the qualification, timeframes, and study options. They'll also confirm their enrolment process and then they'll register you with us.  

Step 4 Once your study centre registers you with us (and if you're not already a member) we'll invite you to join CIPD. We'll send you an email asking you to join Student Membership. For the CIPD to moderate your work, you'll need to be in active membership throughout your studies.
