Defence, Equipment and Support (DE&S), the procurement arm of the UK Armed Forces, becomes the CIPD’s latest People Development Partner
Defence, Equipment and Support (DE&S), the procurement arm for the UK Armed Forces that employs over 11, 500 people across the UK, has been working with the CIPD in its commitment to developing its people professionals. Over the last 18 months, DE&S has invested in training, experience assessments, apprenticeships, CIPD membership and qualifications to support and encourage employees to learn and develop in their roles.
DE&S is continuously investing in growing the credibility of its people function. By using the CIPD Profession Map to chart the course, it’s brought its HR team to the reputable international standard associated with the PDP accreditation. DE&S has also supported its employees to grow their skills and enhance their level of expertise through a range of development programmes.
The commitment that DE&S has made by achieving PDP accreditation reiterates its dedication to empowering its people to excel in their professions. The partnership agreement recognises Defence, Equipment and Support as an employer who prioritises investing in its people function. The signing of the partnership agreement by Ray Worrell of the CIPD and Dr. Jill Hatcher of DE&S at their offices in Bristol in early May symbolises an important alliance in the people profession.
