New mentoring platform for CIPD members

The CIPD has launched a new online mentoring platform, exclusive to members, to create a space where people professionals can connect, wherever they are in the world.  

The new platform is just one of the ways in which the CIPD is responding to members’ needs for more support for their continuing professional development (CPD) – and just one of a range of new benefits that members can expect from us this year. 

The new member-to-member platform 

Whilst mentoring opportunities have been available to UK-based CIPD members for some time, this new programme is available to members globally. It provides them with everything they need to build meaningful relationships, so they can get the most out of their mentoring experience and achieve their goals.  

The new mentoring platform offers members:  

• personalised mentoring to suit their unique needs and achieve their career goals 

• quick and easy online registration 

• supportive tools and resources to help them get the most out of their mentoring relationship 

• easy communication and collaboration through the online platform 

• updates and reminders, from the platform, to help keep their mentoring relationship on track. 

Why is mentoring so important? 

Mentoring is an invaluable experience for both the mentor and the mentee. Senior professionals have a platform where they can inspire the newer generation of people professionals, share their expertise and develop their own skills and career. At the same time, mentees have a place to be guided and gain insights from experienced members in the profession, so they can better plan their next career steps.  

Become a mentor 

At this stage, the CIPD is looking for Chartered Members and Charted Fellows to join the platform as mentors. We’ve already had over 300 members sign up as mentors, and the number is growing by the day. The programme offers an exciting opportunity for senior professionals to make an even bigger impact on the profession.
