The CIPD Trust has launched its 2023-24 Impact Report, highlighting a year of dedicated work aimed at reducing barriers to employment and promoting more inclusive workplaces. Through various programmes, the Trust has positively impacted individuals facing challenges in starting and advancing their careers, thanks to the support of people professionals across the UK.

Led by Sally Eley, the CIPD Trust focuses on creating social change through the expertise of the people profession.

“Our goal this year has been to increase workplace inclusivity through our programs. Seeing the positive changes for individuals and workplaces is inspiring, and it’s thanks to the dedication of people professionals who volunteer their time to make this happen.”

Sally Eley, Head of Trust, CIPD Trust

The report spotlights three key goals for the Trust: improving access to meaningful work, shaping better workplace practices, and fostering a fairer, more prosperous society. Over the past year, the Trust has supported 801 individuals, including 509 through the Access to Work programme, 178 through jobseeker webinars, 72 through bursaries, and 42 in leadership programmes.

And it’s not just the individuals who’ve benefited. CIPD Trust programme mentors have taken their experiences and learnings back into their organisations, with two in three (63%) making at least one positive change in their place of work, as a result.

People professionals tell us that the experience of learning about diversity, inclusion and lived experience, as a CIPD Trust mentor, has benefitted them both professionally and personally. It has enabled them to make changes within their own organisations and strengthen their contribution to the profession.

The report reflects the potential of the people profession to create lasting change by building more inclusive and supportive workplaces.

As the CIPD Trust looks ahead, it is excited to continue expanding its reach and impact. The full 2023-24 Impact Report, including stories of those who have benefited, is now available for further insights.
